Midwest Writers Association members accept speaking engagements locally and across the country. We have a wide range of experienced writers and authors who are experts in a tremendous variety of topics available to speak anywhere in the country.

NOTE: Midwest Writers Association offers this bureau as a service to its members and to the community. Listing in this directory of speakers should not be considered an endorsement by the Midwest Writers Association. All speakers have provided Midwest Writers Association with references, and will provide them to any interested party upon request. Speakers’ fees are to be negotiated directly with the speaker.

An experienced and popular speaker, Clampitt was featured in the 2012 LACONI “Best of the Best” review of programs and speakers and, in 2013, was chosen for the Illinois Humanities Council “Road Scholars” program.

About the speaker: Barnett is an author, entertainment/pop culture journalist and media strategist. Executive Editor of Blogcritics magazine, she covers television and pop culture. She’s interviewed numerous hollywood celebrities, writers and producers, and is the author of the definitive book on the television series House, M.D. She is about to launchGrannyCentric: For the 21st Century Woman of a “Certain Age.”

Barnett is also a professional Jewish educator and is a contributer to the book Spiritual Pregnancy (Llewellyn Worldwide, January 2014).

About the speaker:  Schaffer has been a high school teacher and corporate trainer.  Then she turned her attention to writing a memoir with her 91 year old mother about her WWII experiences as a member of the Women’s Army Corps stationed in Europe.  “Mollie’s War” is the result of this endeavor.  Schaffer speaks to organizations about WACs providing a glimpse into the life of a woman in uniform during this crucial time in history.
