The Ins and Outs of Blogging

Considering monetizing your blog but don't know how or if you should? Ever ask yourself if there is a better alternative to having your own blog? (Because for some folks, there is.) Join us on September 11, 2014, for a panel discussion of these and other topics related to blogging, especially for writers.
Our three panelists have long and varied experience with blogging. Catherine L. Tully has been a full-time freelance writer since 2002 and has been blogging since 2008. She is the owner/editor of 4dancers.org, one of the largest dance blogs on the Web, and co-founder of an award-winning blog for freelance writers. 4dancers is a magazine-style blog, with 16 contributors from across the country. Catherine has served on a panel about the blogosphere at the Dance USA Conference in San Francisco, discussing amyriad of topics related to running a successful blog. She has also worked as a social media consultant for a variety of businesses.
Jocelyn Delk Adams is the founder of Grandbaby Cakes, a food blog inspired by her grandmother and devoted to classic recipes, modern trends, and showcasing the pastry field in an accessible way. She is a brand ambassador and blogger for Pillsbury, Better Homes and Gardens, Parade Magazine Online and Safest Choice Eggs. Jocelyn has been featured by The New York Times Online, Ebony Magazine, Refinery 29, Better Homes and Gardens, and the Chicago Sun-Times, among many others. She is currently writing her firstcookbook which will be published in Fall of 2015.
Cynthia Clampitt is a freelance writer who has two blogs of her own and has been a guest contributor on several other blogs. Her waltzingaustralia.com blog, originally intended to support her book of the same name, was started in March 2007. This blog has been honored, and is archived, by the National Library of Australia as an outstanding resource. Theworldsfare.org is a food, travel, and history blog begun in March 2008. Contributions to other blogs have included posts on writing, language, the freelance life, food history, and travel.
The panel will be moderated by Vicki Gerson, who is herself an experienced blogger. A business columnist and marketing and PR professional, Vicki has written numerous blog posts for her clients (for one client, more than 200 ghost business blogs in less than two years).
